Gangwha Trout and Smelt Festival 2015

"Gangwhal Trout and Semlt Festival" would be opened from 20, December to 28, December, 2015.

It would be held at Fresh reservoir which is located in Gangwha Gun, Incheon government. Fresh reservoir is famous for pure water. So the festival very hot place to many family.

The enterence fee is 5,000 won. If age is less 7, fee is free.

You can enjoy not only ice-fishing but also ice sled, biking.

Also, you can grab fish by your hand directly, Children can get fish using stick.

Gangwha-do is close to Inha univ. So if you like fishing visit !! 

Fish which is taken can eat on the spot.

World Cultures 2014

World Cultures 2014 is a festival cooperating with the foreign cultural institutes in Korea - Germany, UK, Italy, Czech Republic, China and France. It will take place at Art Sonje Center on 10-14 December with the various programs including performances, film screening, talk sessions, theme zone exhibit under the theme of "Young Creators". This festival has been arranged in order to introduce the diverse cultures of the different countries, as well as to strengthen the culture and arts exchange and cooperation among the different Foreign Cultural Institutions in Korea.

I want to introduce programs briefly. First is Darye. Darye is a work of performance.
It is composed to the conversation of artist "Valerio Rocco Orlando". He made a Darye project which deals with identities of individual and group. It takes about 120 minutes and there are three other programs.
Also, you can enjoy short films and featured films. In short film section, you can choose packages which including 4 short films. And featured films related with the ideology of foreign countries.

You should pre-register for participating the festival.
I really want to visit, but it is my final exam period... very sad.
But if you are free, go ahead.


You can easily arrived by using subway. Take Exit 1 at Anguk Station on Line 3 and walk in the direction of Jung Dok Public Library.

2015 BOSEONG TEA PLANTATION LIGHT FESTIVAL

Are you interested in green tea?
I recommend a "Boseong Tea Plantation Light Festival" to you.
The location is Hoecheon-myealled , Boseong-gun, Geollanam-do and the festival would continued from 19th December, 2014 to 1st February, 2015.
The time of light on is 18:00 to 22:00 at week day and 18:00 to 24:00 at weekend.

"Boseong Tea Plantation Light Festival" is held on the green tea plantation, the best tourist attraction in Korea. Light fixtures are installed on a large tree and along the roads around Butjae Tea House and Dahyanggak Observatory to allow visitors to see a variety of things. The lights embroider the sky at night in winter. There are a number of sites and events including a big tree, Green Tea Plantation Theme Street, Milky way Tunnel of Love, Photo Zone, Light Street, Stairs of Pledge, and Hanging Hope Card. The performances and experience programs for tourists are provided every week.

Especially, the big tree in green tea plantation was recorded as the biggest tree in the world in 2000. A length is 120 meters and a width is 130 meters. So you can see the biggest shining tree like falling snow in there.

It is slight far from Seoul, but i would visit there at New years holiday.

2014 European Christmas Market

Christmas coming soon~!!
There is a chance to enjoy European Christmas foods, crafts, musci and many shows of each country.
It  would be held at Seongbukcheon Fountain Square that is connected to subway line no.4 Hansung Univ.Station exit 2.
Seongbuk Gu have hold this festival every year.
European Christmas Maket is derived from Europe countries including Normway, Denmark, Sweden, Swiss, Spain, Italia so on. Participatiants can experience many culutres of diverse Europe countries.
Especailly, Grand Seoul Hotel participate to the festival as a representation of Germany. So Grand Hotel will prepare some ginger bread, mini banana cake, mini marble cake, and santa cookie etc for people.
Also, other booth would offer beverages, foods, and shows of their own.
The participation fee is free but you should pay for stuffs and foods.

2014 SEOUL PHOTO FESTIVAL

Are you interested in to photo?
A few years ago, i bought DSLR camera for taking pictures. Although i am not using often these days i'd like to take a picture and see the pictures that other people taken.
There is helding an interesting photo festival in Seoul from November 13 to December 13 during 1 month.
The place is a Exhibition Hall, SeoulHistory Museum.
The theme of photo fesivial is "Seoul, birth of place : Hangsung, Gyeongseong, Seoul.". It is showed the appeareance of Seoul of changing.




This picture is a Seoul that was 100 years ago.




And it is a Kyungbokkong image of 1897


Also, you can see the remains of colonized by Japan.
After indepence from Japan, Seoul began to be showed modern architecture.
Observing the changing of same area of Seoul would be meaningful.


Finally, there is a special display. This part is composed by citizen of Seoul.



A boy in the left picture grew and be a right man after 40 years and his mother got ages.
Background of two pictures are same as a Namsan Mountain.

Dong Dae Moon DDP Rose Festival

I introduce a "Dong Dae Moon DDP Rose Festival".
It have held in Dong Dae Moon DDP grass plaza would held to end of this year.
Originally, It was planed to fininshing at October 31 many people visited so the gorvernment of Seoul decided to extend the period to December 31.
Therefore, if you are looking for the place to visit in December it would be a great choice to go.
There are 2 million of roses in the grass and the LED is on from 6 to 10 p.m. So you you can see a lot of shining roses at evening.
Dong Dae Moon plaza is convenient to go because of DongDaeMoon subway station which is line number 1 and can enjoy not only the Rose Festival but also shopping at DDP plaza.
Additionally, it is a free for enterance.

It is a second Everland festival which would lasted to March of 2015.

Especially, it is targeted for couples.

But there is a free shuttle bus in Giheung subway station.

CHRISTMAS FANTASY FESTIVAL

I recommend a romantic date course!!!

Christmas Fantasy is a festival planned by Everland.

It have continued December 31, 2014 from November 7, 2014.

There are three themes. Christmas Avenue, Christmas Tree Street, Christmas Magic Tree, and diverse shows.

It is a Christmas Avenue. You can see millions of shining light and make you to feel as a movie star with your precious person.
Actually the lights is about ten millions of light. Can you imagine?

It is a Christmas Tree Street. You can see various themes of christmas tree. It is a good place to take a picture. It is displayed in "Global Fair" area.

Finally, the Christmas Magic Tree. Are you remember a memory that had wished under the christmas tree?
There is a 13 meters big magic tree also in Global Fair. Prey for your hope then it might be come true.

Moreover, there are a lot of shows such as White X-mas performance, Sweet party of prince, moon light performance etc.

POCHEON HURB ISLAND LIGHT FAIRY TALE FESTIVAL : SANTA FAIRY

Herb Island opened the light fairy tale festival which theme is Santa Fairy.

This festival would continued to April 30, 2015 and light on at 5 : 30 p.m. and off at 9 p.m. in week day off at 10 p.m. in weekend. But you can visit everytime if you art not care of lighting and just herb firm without lantern is okay.

Herb Island operates several programs, too.

There are making Herb Jam class and making Christmas cookie, making candle stick etc. Also, you can writhe Christmas card previously to family or friends and it would be arrived at Christmas eve. 

Pocheon is quite far from Seoul but I recommend to go with your parents or with boyfriend, girlfriend. 

Herb Island located in Pocheon which land size is about four hundreds thousand square meters. Therefore, it gives visitors to fantasy images.

Additionally, Herb Island just purpose a sightseeing firm not using for cultivation.

2014 SEOUL DESIGN FESTIVAL

 

I bring a news of SEOUL DESIGN FESTIVAL.

I got the information of this from my sister who major Fashion design. 

She recommend it to me so i searched about this festival.

It already have started to display from yesterday at Coex Hall B and would finished at November 11.

The operate hour is from 10:30 a.m to 7 p.m and you should enter before 6 p.m. for participating.

Homepage said that there are several displays which is called each city in the world like Millano, London, New York, Tokyo etc.

The display is composed by design management, Korea Contents, and Global contents. 

Therefore, you can see not only domestic trend but also global trend.

THE FIRST CHICKEN, BEER&NOODLE FESTIVAL 2014

Do you like chicken?

If you like there is a great festival fit to you, chicken and beer festival.

It would be held in KINTEX hall during December 4 to December 6, 2014.

Visitors can taste variety of chicken of several chicken company and also can drink cool beer together.

The entrance fee is only 5,000 won per person.

Isn't great can taste all kind of chicken by paying only 5,000?

I really want to participate this festival.

At first, it originated from Dae Gu province and was very succeed.

At this time, it held in Ill San which near by Seoul. If you like chicken and beer

THE 2014 SEOUL LANTERN FESTIVAL

Let me introduce a interesting festival what i have visited last weekend.

It was called 서울 등불 축제 until last year, but it changed to 서울 빛초롱 축제.

It is holding November 7 to November 23. 2014 and you can see from Cheonggye Plaza to Supyo Bridge about 1.2 km.

This festival is held by Seoul Government and have lasted for 10 years.

I went this festival last week, and many people gathered to enjoying it.

It is nice whoever with family, friends even foreigners.

A theme of this year is an ancient Seoul of 2000 years ago. From Baekje to today's Seoul of the Republic of Korea. The delicate light the Korean handmade paper(hanji) lamps in the 2014 Seoul Lantern Festival are a celebration of dynastic culture, the folk games of the common folk, and even current gimjang Kimchi culture.
